San Juan - Non Tourist Places
Will be in Puetro Rice in Mid June, and looking for out of the way destinations (inexpensive) things to do away from the crowd. Love snorkeling and fishing.

Other folks will help you with the non-touristy places, but you should really consider visiting Old San Juan anyway, despite its being a major tourist destination on the island. The architecture, the bright colors, the cobblestone streets, the cathedral, and the two forts are all pretty amazing and among the oldest and best preserved in the new world.

Depending on what you enjoy doing there are many choices ...
* Icacos Island - snorkeling * Flamenco Beach - snorkeling * Hire a fishing charter * Toro Negro Forest * Viewing Petroglyphs * Humacao Wildlife Refuge / Nature Reserve * Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve * Tropical Agriculture Research Center We have more ideas, and details, on our travel blog at www.PuertoRicoDayTrips.com |
Although it may be considered "touristy", visit Loquillo Beach. A lot of the locals go there and you just have to get local food at the kiosks there.
|
And you really should see El Yunque the rain forest - it is great.
