Hi, suem. We've not explored the entire Samana peninsula, though we did spend a couple of days in Las Terrenas a few years ago. The area is known for whale-watching, diving, and beautiful beaches, to name just a few.

A google search turned up the following link, which seems to provide a lot of cruise-related detail re: attractions, activites, etc. Try cruisesamana.com for more info.

You should be able to find further details/tips on debsdrtravels.com

Have a wonderful cruise--hope this info helps little.

Whale watching season is usually over by April, but the waterfall trip (by horseback if you can arrange it) can be fun. The good and interesting beaches are not in Samana itself but are within an hour's drive. If you have a group, you can hire a taxi to drive you ... or you can drive yourself. The traffic isn't too bad on the peninsula.
