Saint Lucia Cash

We are visiting Saint Lucia from the UK in a few weeks and trying to decide what currency to take.
Of course East Caribean dollars is the currency but I was wondering if it would be better to stick to EC or get some USD too?
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Mucky

We were there for the last 2 weeks. Everybody accepts XCD (East Caribbean dollars) as well as USD. Supermarkets were $1 USD = $2.65 XCD so very close to the official rate. Taxis, vendors, restaurants - all accepted either currency.

Use an ATM at any of the several banks and change your currency as you need it for, say, roadside meals etc., but all restaurants, shops etc accept credit cards.
