Runaway Hill - Bahamas HELP!

Does anyone know how the rates for Runaway Hill, its not listed and they do not have an email on their site (or an email address would be great)

I am interested in the villa also, is it just one villa?

TIA

There is a new owner at Runaway, so I'm sure a few things have changed. The last time I looked the rate was $280 a night, not sure what the rates are now, but you can call and check the number is 242-333-2150.

Carol and Roger (and Ebony) have retired and I have heard that they have relocated to Ft. Lauderdale.

I think there is still only 1 villa, and I know that the new owners are planning on doing some rennovations and new building on the property.

When you speak to DellaReese, please give her my love.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. I read a couple of really negative reviews of the place since the new owners have taken over, about rates being raised to about $400 + per night from $275 - and them not honoring reservations at the old rate. Maybe I need to look elsewhere, I think for $400 per night I would rather a villa.

Wantsomesun - any recommendations or sites to rent villas? TIA

Im not surprised to hear negative things about the new owners unfortunately, the island has been "discovered" now, so the rates are going to go up.

Have you looked at The Rock House, it's on the other side of the island, but very nice.

Also Romora Bay is also on the water, it's a short walk to the beach, and it's on the harbour side. The accomodations there are also villas, and the food is excellent.

Dunsmore Beach Club, is another option, also villas there, and it's right on the beach.

For $400 a night I'll look elsewhere too!, and it's a shame the hotel is really wonderful, but certainly NOT worth that much.

Island Realty on Harbour Island rents out villas all over the island, and you can get one for about $1,000 to $1,500 a week. There are a couple of grocery stores on island, so you can stock up on breakfast/lunch things and then eat out dinner at one of the resorts on island.

Hope this helps a bit.

I've just realized why the rates are not up, all the regulars who go there, like me would find another place to stay so I'm guessing they are having problems with bookings. I called a few weeks ago to say hello and find out what weeks they had available in June or July and never heard back.

Humm - interesting , thanks for the info.

Do you have a website for Island Realty? or email?

TIA

You might try www.myharbourisland.com or www.briland.com for more info.

The www.briland.com site is very active and supported by the entire community so there's lots of interesting info there.

When are you planning on being on island?

Thanks! We will not until next year (Thanksgiving or Xmas) I am trying to plan ahead. We go to Nevis in a few weeks and St Barths for Thanksgiving.

I have not been to the out islands at all and I really want to go. They just sound so great! Are any of the other islands like Harbour Island? It doesn't really seem like it.
