Runaway Bay or Montego Bay?

I have been searching trips to Jamaica and can't decide between Montego Bay or Runaway Bay.

Please let me know if you know anything about the (1) Breezes Montego Bay Resort or the (2)Royal Decameron Club Caribbean in Runaway Bay.

Is there much to do in Runaway Bay or should I lean toward Montego???

THANKS!

I don't care much for either town, truthfully. MoBay is a fairly large city, with that feel (also where the airport is), and Breezes is right downtown on a nice but public (for a fee) beach. It's an easy walk to go out to party and eat at several places on "the hip strip" but I've not heard many good reviews of the hotel itself.

Runaway Bay is about an hour and a half east of MoBay and probably has a better beach, but it's mainly all-inclusive hotels there so not much going on in town (that I could see).

I'd personally choose Port Antonio, Port Maria, Treasure Beach or Negril over the two you mentioned.

If you do go with one of those, both are well situated for day tripping to waterfalls, horseback riding, river rafting or boating and such.

Again, agree. Montego Bay is not a great area and while have not been, heard that the Breezes there is not good - never read anything positive about it other then the beach.

Negril is a far better choice.

I'm with the others - skip Montego Bay and Runaway. I recommend Negril.
