Rooms at the Reefs

How are the rooms at The Reefs? My husband and I are thinking about going to Bermuda in April or May.

Also - does anyone know what the average temperature is at this time? Thanks!

Never been to the Reefs, but Bermuda is approx.latitude of north carolina, it is Not in the caribbean, The temps could be in 60s-70s probably too cold to swim, great for golf!

That is what I feared about the weather. . ., we want 80's! Thanks a lot!

Bermuda is the same latitude, but it is affected by the Gulf Stream. It is wonderful in late May! Yes it can be in the 80s, sunny and bright, great swimming!

Check www.weather.bm to get historical info on weather in Bermuda.

If you want temps in the 80's wait until Mid May or later. April is high 60's low 70's. Too cold for swimming, but you can still read a book on the beach, go exploring on mopeds, etc.

The Reefs is very nice. They have been doing a major refurbishing. My aunt stayed there and we saw the rooms and used the beach. The beach is in a bit of a cove, so warmer water. Actually, we are going to stay here when we go.
Contact the Bermuda tourist board and get the information on the island sent to you, it will tell you everything you need to know. May would be better for swimming. Actually May is perfect, the least amount of rainfall and warm enough, and not the crowds yet. Take a jacket for evenings. It is a beautiful island and fun with the mopeds. Look up the Reefs on the Internet and have a brochure sent. www.thereefs.com

My husband and I have been to Bermuda twice in 1999 and 2000. It has pros and cons as with every island destination. We went the last week of May and the last week of June. Personally, I enjoyed the last week of June because the water was about 10 degrees warmer (78-80). A dive instructor told us that it warms up 5-10 degrees every 2 weeks beginning in April. The air temp. was wonderful in May but I thought the water temp. was a little too cold...my husband didn't. We did not stay at The Reefs either time, but definitely would the next time. Taking all things into consideration, we think it is the nicest resort on the island next to the very expensive Elbow Beach Club.

We went to Bermuda for the first time in November, 01. We loved the island and especially the Reefs. The food was excellent, the service very personal and our room, at least, was wonderful - we had a fabulous ocean view. They have an incredible infinity pool with a hot tub right up on the cliffs - a great place to be after a day being a tourist. They are expensive, but we thought they were worth the money, unlike some of the mega resorts. Bermuda is great!
