Rooms at Isle de France

My Fiance and I are trying to decide which room to stay in for our honeymoon at the Isle de France. Has anybody stayed in the basic beach rooms, or the Garden bungalow?

Also, does anybody have any strong feelings about Eden Rock?

Thanks so much!

We have stayed in a Garden Bungalow and it was absolutely lovely. Large, private, well appointed, huge bathroom with double sinks, huge jacuzzi tub, Molten Brown toiletries. If you have specific questions feel free to email me. [email protected]. Also lots has been written about both these properties on www.sbhonline.com, including a detailed trip report I posted there with a lengthy description of the Garden Bungalow from November 2002.

Eden Rock is very nice but not as private, and St. Jean beach is VERY busy. Flamands Beach is much nicer to walk on and is usually almost deserted. I'd stick with IDF.

Isle de France is a very nice hotel, but remember 1/2 guest the rooms on the special Island are in private villas.
You travel all that way to look @ a garden...Most of the Villas rent for about the same as a nice hotel like IDF (or less) and your views are of the gorgeous turquoise ocean, privacy.
Also if it's in the summer months it's much better to be a little higher and up off the beach. I agree, SBH Online is a great resource.

Can anyone suggest what to see or do for 1 day in St. Barts?

The island is interesting to drive around and visit the beaches, the town of Gustavia.
