Anybody stay at the Sandals in the Bahamas?
My boyfriend and I are just looking for an all-inclusive resort, easy to get to from NY and adults only preferred. Opinions ????
Thank You !

We stayed there several years ago for our honeymoon and loved it. We thought the food was very good and we especially loved the private island. Very few people used it so we often felt like we had the pool & the pool bar all to ourselves. I think, however, that a cruise line may have developed something on the other side of the island so I'm not sure how private it is anymore. Also, there was almost no nightlife. Everyone seemed to diappear at night, I think to the casinos down the road. Bot overall we loved it and had a great time. We had the lowest class of room and it was very nice. We even had a view of the ocean.

Excellante!! Ive visited it many times. It is the cream of the Sandals properties. Definately go! That area of Bahamas is kinda quiet after a certain hour. so you have to catch a cab downtown to the casinos or over to paradise island for night life.

It's a pretty resort with lots of beautiful vegetation, however, if you're in search of the perfect resort, this is not it, even though it is more upscale. They provided a lot of restaurants, but we didn't find a lot of broccoli and coleslaw and other fresh vegetables that we like. Also, in the Bahama's, there isn't a lot to experience.

We've been twice and loved it. The service and the food were wonderful.
Re: the musty buildings; make sure you're staying in the Windsor building. It's the newest and doesn't have the problems that the Manor building does.
Also, make sure you bring Deet or Off or some other bug spray for when you go to dinner at the private island. The no-see-ums will eat you alive unless you put the stuff on before you go there. We're talking 50 to 150 bites per person. There weren't any other bug problems on the mainland, just the private island.
The umbrellas are on a first come, first serve basis. Go down to the beach early, get one, and put your book, towels on the chair beneath them to hold it and you shouldn't have any problems later.

We stayed at SRB in Sept. 2003. We loved it. Thought the food and entertainment was better than any other AI we've stayed at. However, we tend to stay at much less expensive hotels.
We were in the Manor building and would not have paid more for the rooms in the Windsor. Our room was fine. No mold or mildew. We preferred the Manor pool over the Windsor. Had no problem with bugs or no-see-ums. I never even heard of no-see-ums until our trip this past May to St. Thomas. We weren't really much impressed with Nassau, but enjoyed Sandals.
