rodents in st lucia

We are planning a trip to the Grande St. Lucia Sandals resort.. recently we were told by some friends that the island and property of another resort was full of rats. Does anyone know this to be true or not? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

There ARE rats on St Lucia, but in my trips there, I never saw more than I would expect to see anywhere else.

Almost all of the islands have rodents of some kind - some more than others.

I've never heard that St Lucia has more than any other island, and I had an average of one "rat sighting" per trip.

Sounds like one of those, "I have a cousin who has a co-worker with an aunt who heard this about St Lucia. Or was it St John? Or was it St Barts? Gee, I get all of those St places confused..." :)

my wife and I were at that resort just over a year ago and we never saw any rats. Enjoy whatever you end up doing. I can tell you that is the best of the three Sandals on the St. Lucia.

My son and his girlfriend are at Sandals Grande in St. Lucia right now and he says everything is great, they are having a great time, love the resort. We stayed in St. Lucia a few years ago and didn't see any rats.... I am sure you will find them if you look for them in a right places, just like anywhere else.
