Rockhouse Amenities

Just wondering about the fridges - this sounds dreaful, but I wantd to bring wine and champagne with us. Is it reasonable to assume we will be able to store more than one bottle in the small fridges in the villas?

Sneep-
Doesn't sound terrible at all! We are staying at Rockhouse in July and I would love to do the same. I do wonder what wines will be available at the bars/restaurants in Negril. I don't like beer so redstripes are out for me. I do like a nice glass of wine (or two) for dinner.

I hope someone will know about the fridges.

Don't know about the fridges but do know that wine selection is pretty limited, J'cans don't drink it much. Plenty of rum, beer and other types of alcohol tho.

I stayed at the Rockhouse in January, and I think you should be able to store a few bottles in your fridge. They are small fridges--kind of like you would find in a dorm room, but I don't recall them being so overloaded with room service items that you couldn't fit in your own stuff. The lady in the villa next to mine bought some red stripe from a stand across the street and kept it in her fridge b/c it was so much more reasonable. The wine selection on the island wasn't great, but good enough for me, and fairly cheap for a glass or two.

Stop at SuperPlus in the Bogue Shopping Plaza MoBay on your way in or S&S Liquors at Westgate Shopping Plaza MoBay for a fairly decent selection of non-plonk Argentine and Chilean chards and merlots, and Pinot Grigio. Most of the US/French imports on island are on the low end of acceptable quality. And Blanc de Blancs and champage are pricey/so bring in with you. 2 bottles duty=free per passenger.

Anyone know how to find the TOP HAIRSTYLIST for a wedding over there? Wedding at Rockhouse.

You might check with Isabelle Stewart, she's a JA-based wedding coordinator (and highly recommended by several friends):
