Ritz Carlton-St Johns

I have a question about the Ritz on St John's in the USVI.
I've heard mixed reviews of the property. Some say the rooms are moldy and musty and the bathrooms lack good amenities.
Also I'm told the beach is small and seaweedy.
Does anyone have any personal experiences?

There is no Ritz-Carlton on St John.
I assume you are talking about the
Westin, as that is the only resort on St John except for Caneel Bay.

I stayed at the Westin last Dec. We did see some mold on the walls, but otherwise it was clean. I would stay there again.
The beach there is man-made. There are so many beautiful beaches in the National Park that there is no reason to go to the beach at the Westin.
My best advice is to rent a Jeep & explore the island. We had a beach to ourselves for 2 days!

Etta: Sorry, there is no Ritz Carlton on St. John's.

The Ritz is on the east end of St. Thomas not St. John. I cannot imagine a moldy or musty room and when I have stayed there there they were just wonderful with great views of St. John. What kind of amenities do you mean? The original beach is smallish but they have annexed the beach on Great Cruz Bay in front of the the Club. It is great especially for sailboarding. No seaweed. Food expensive and we enjoyed going off the property for dinners.

do you mean the Westin? That does describe the manmade beach there and the rather medicore hotel on beautiful grounds. go to www.travelhop.com for virtual tour of the property.
