We have been to Aruba 2 times, Turks and Caicos, Bermuda, St. Martin, St. John, the Bahamas, Cancun, Cozumel, and St. Lucia. I realize there are other travelers out there that have been to more islands than we have but we fell in love with the people of Grand Cayman. TomCayman is right when he says ".. and above all, the people... those who keep coming back to Cayman year after year cite the people they meet as the main reason for their loyalty to our little peace of paradise". The snokeling is outstanding, the food is wonderful but expensive and the people are great.

We went to Grand Cayman in 2000. We have also been to Aruba, Turks & Caicos, Playa Del Carmen, Los Cabos, St. Thomas, Cancun & Bahamas. Our Favorite is Grand Cayman. It's beautiful, great service, lots to do and see, great restaurants, you can walk the beach for miles [7 miles ;o)]. We're going back in March and staying Oceanfront at the Ritz.
Congratulations and best wishes on your wedding.

I wanted to add that the most relaxing trip we've had was at the Secrets Resort Playa Del Carmen Mexico. It was 5-star All-inclusive. Fantastic time. www.secretsresorts.com

If you want a nice, clean hotel try to Marriott Beach resort. It's right on 7 mile beach and centrally located. It was completely refurbished following hurricane Ivan so it's like a brand new hotel - it just reopened in June 2005. The crystal clear and beautiful blue water is fabulous. You can snorkle right off the beach. And be sure to go to the Wharf Restaurant - we ate there three nights because we liked it so much! Be sure to rent a car and explore the entire island. I've never seen more beautiful water and they're working hard at restoring the island following the hurricane. Parts are still badly damaged - it's amazing what Mother Nature can do.

I just want to say that I left Cayman on 12/8 and the Ritz was not ready. There was still scaffolding in areas, workers were everywhere, and it definately had not been cleaned up yet. My wife and I commented everytime we drove by that there was no way they would be ready to open on 12/15. Maybe 1/15, but not 12/15. My two cents!

Well then mbreed8813, you would have lost your 2c... the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman did indeed open on Dec 15th, I was at the opening reception and it does indeed look magnificent.

Having toured inside and out only two weeks before, I too am astonished that they pulled it off, but they did

Forget the RITZ. Why pay those prices. Stay at Palntana they are offering a nice special for summer. Same water and beach and sun. Use that Naval education towards family economics.

I just noticed a few reviews on the Ritz on tripadvisor. It may be worth a read if you're planning on staying there.

WOW! That's all great info! What about the Hyatt Beach Suites on Grand Cayman?
Any info on that?
Thanks!
