Rick's Cafe Negril
 

A friend and I are heading to Negril in a few weeks and were looking forward to watching the sunset from Rick's Cafe, but then I read in Conde' Nast that it fell into the ocean in the hurricane. They said it would be rebuilt, but not sure how quickly. Anyone been there recently and seen signs of it re-appearing?

I have heard recently that they are rebuilding....but not even close to being done. All that was left was a parking lot and a pile of rubble. There are many other options for catching the sunset....in fact anywhere in Negril!

We were at Rick's in May & the main attraction was the cliff divers. We also went to Pirate's Cave & the view is equally good. Wound up eating at 3 Dives & watching the most incredible sunset there. If you are looking for a place to watch the sunset while partying then Pirate's Cave is probably the next best thing.

Rick's will take at least a year to rebuild. Pirate's Cove is the current replacement scene but don't expect blissful and quiet...
