After 6 visits our musts include
LUNCH--Skinny Legs, Shipwreck Landing DINNER--Lime Inn, Morgans Mango, Uncle Joe's HAPPY HOUR/SNACK---Woody's ---------------------------------- After that LUNCH--Vie's, Miss Lucy's, Deli at Starfish Mkt DINNER--ZoZo's, Stone Terrace, Asolare, RhumbLines JMHO |
For dinner, our favorites were The Lime Inn, excellent Caribbean lobster and mussels, La Tapa, followed by Zo-Zo's. Wonderful views of St Thomas from Zo-Zo's. Stone Terrace is on our list for next time, menu looked great. Uncle Joes BBQ definitely. We didn't care for Miss Lucy's, but just had lunch. Others seem to like it. Have fun, there are so many choices!

We enjoyed Sundog Cafe in Moongoose Junction,JJ Texas Toast across from where the ferries come in,Compass Rose at the Mini Golf place for a sunset dinner,Sogo's restaurant beside Conrad's rental cars.

Thanks, this should definately give us enough to get through our first trip! I have also read that picknick lunches were available from The simple feast, and Deli Grotto.

Lime Inn is definitely one of our favorites as is Panini's. Stone Terrace is very nice but slightly more expensive. If you're in St. John during the busy time, just make sure you make reservations for the more popular places (Lime Inn, Stone Terrace, etc.). Last December, we didn't and sat literally right on the side walk at Zozo's!

Just got back from St. John today... Everything we ate was delicious! Loved La Tapa in Cruz Bay and Aqua Bistro in Coral Bay.
|
We found the prices a shock for some at most restaurants but if you are willing to pay the price then the following are worth it....
Lunch...Lime Inn, Mongoose Junction bar/outdoor restaurant, Skinny Legs for burgers Dinner...La Tapa and Stone Terrace |
Mongoose Junction outside bar is Gecko Gazebo (one of our favorite hangouts besides The Quiet Mon :) ) The outside restaurant is Sundog Cafe...very good Mahi Mahi sandwich and pasta salad.

In late June/early July of this year we ate at many of the places mentioned here. Our best and most interesting meal of our 16 days on island was at Sweet Plantains in Coral Bay. The lobster at Lime Inn was tasty, as was the chowder and the grilled fish. We chatted with a local couple at La Tapa who highly recommended Margarita Phil's. We had lobster quesidillas there the next day that were VERY good.
