restrictions
Heading to Jamaica and have requests to bring home some wonderful Jamaican rum. ANyone know how much is allowed to be brought back to the states? Also are there any restrictions on what you can and cannot bring back. Cant seem to find too much info .

You'll find answers to all your questions on the US Customs website:

There is also a difference in how much you can bring back duty free and how much you can bring back that you are willing to pay tax on.

Don't forget the 3 ounce limitation for carry on liquids. If you buy it in the duty-free area after security in Jamaica, and then have a direct flight (i.e. you don't switch to another plane once you get to the U.S.), you're OK. Otherwise, you will need to put it in your checked luggage.

Thanks so much.! :-) I have also heard that the Blue Mountain coffee is a good thing to bring home as well.
How about the drinking water in Montego Bay? Stick to bottled, or drinks w/o ice?? Or is it safer than Cancuns water. We will be spending most of our time on the resort property. |
Water quality isn't typically a problem on Montego Bay. No need at all to avoid drinks with ice. I find Blue Mountain coffee to be good but overpriced, but it's cheaper in Jamaica than in the U.S.
