Restaurants in San Juan

Traveling to San Juan and staying at the
Intercontinental next week. Looking for
suggestions on restaurants. Maybe something
on the fun side and another on the romantic
side. Thanks!

there's a great asian fusion restaurant that is across the street from the parrot club and has the same owners. i can't remember the name at the moment, but just ask someone at your hotel and i'm sure they can fill you in!
The name of the restaurant across from the Parrot Club (which is very good) is the Dragon Fly.

For local cuisine try Ajili Mojili in the Condado. La Casita across the street from the hotel is another restaurant for local cuisine. They also serve breakfast at the reasonable price ($2.99)

La Piccola Fontana (in the El San Juan which is next door to the Intercon) for a romantic meal and Metropol for a fun, inexpensive meal (Cuban/PR food).

Yep, definitely the Metropol. Actually, the best meal we had in San Juan was right at the hotel's Ruth's Chris Restuarant. That was truly a memeorable meal, but pricey.

Since you are staying at the Intercontinental, if you notice the beds are uncomfortable, please let them know. Maybe we can get them to replace them with decent beds if everyone that goes complains.

BTW, there is a Burger King almost across the street from the hotel. We would run over to get breakfast and bring back to the hotel to eat in the room. Just gives you a break from the price gouging for a meal now and then.

The Tequila Bar & Grill in the El San Juan is on the rooftop and is romantic.

There is an Outback Steak House in the Embassy Suites hotel, that might be worth checking.

Our last night we went to Sonny's Oceanfront which is in the Empress Hotel. It's casual, on the water and the views at night are magical. The area is sort of sleazy, so rather than walk back to the hotel in the dark, we got a taxi.

Have a great time.
