Restaurants in Grenada

We are going to Grenada for our honeymoon in October and would love the names of some good restaurants for both lunch and dinner. <BR><BR>Thanks,<BR>Margaret

Our favorite is Coconuts, on Grand Anse Beach. Barefoot casual, romantic, right on the beach at water's edge -- it's fresh local cuisine, beautifully prepared.

be sure to eat at laluna's restaurant! great for both lunch and dinner, but dinner for sure. the chef is sicilian so the pastas are excellent, along w/ seafood, etc. also, an absolutely gorgeous setting. great wine list too!<BR><BR>if you're feeling adventurous try local favorite - patrick's. he is a flamboyant local who serves a variety of grenadian specialties (a dozen or so sampler dishes) on the front porch of his house.

Margaret,<BR> Look for CALYPSO TERRACE, they may have moved from their location last March but the best meal we had. My husband said it was the best lobster he has eaten (and he has tried a lot in the Caribbean) We knew the chef, Tom from his days at Sandcastle on Jost Van Dyke, BVI - he and his wife, Lena are great folks and will be happy to have you.

Margaret: When I was in Grenada several years ago I had the best pizza ever at Portofino down town. The building looked shoddy from the outside but the food was great; we went back a second time. The Red Crab was good if it is still there. Don't miss the crab races at the Flamboyant(I think). <BR>Also, if you golf, make sure you golf in Grenada. We had to wait until the goats moved off the green before hitting the ball! It was memorable. Grenada was a great time. I am sure you will enjoy it!

Thank you all for your replies. Beachlover. We are staying at LaLuna, should we opt for the meal plan for some of our meals?

margaret, we stayed at laluna this past april and loved it. however, i believe the meal plan, or MAP is all-inclusive, so you either eat all your meals there or not. if you want to venture off the property to try other restaurants (which you should, really - it gets a bit monotonous after several days, although don't know how long you're staying). i thought that the MAP did not give a significant advantage anyway, as alcohol is not included. we did not do the MAP and enjoyed having meals in different places.<BR><BR>also try cicely's in the calabash hotel, and the aquarium. for more ideas, check out:<BR><BR>http://www.geographia.com/grenada/gdres01.htm<BR><BR>and also:<BR><BR>http://www.grenadaexplorer.com/Restaurant.htm<BR>*there's a discussion board here too<BR><BR>congratulations and have fun!<BR>

We just returned from 12 glorious days at Laluna. It was absolutely incredible. Exceeded all of our expectations. We opted for the meal plan for the first 7 days - leaving the rest to see other places. We ended up eating 2 additional dinners at Laluna - it really was the best. Try the Beach House - which is only a short walk from Laluna and is the only other property in the cove that houses Laluna. Their food was very good as well and is a nice place to walk to for lunch. We also ate at Aquarium - but I have to honestly say, Laluna was our favorite. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Laluna as you may have guessed. The staff is incredible too. Please tell Wilton and Rodney they have some fans in Philadelphia. Have a great time! I'm so jealous!
