Restaurant suggestions on Anguilla?
We'll be there in early Dec., staying at the Sonesta for 5 nights, and would like dining suggestions (mostly for dinner) both in higher and lower price ranges for a bit of variety. And are there any places to go for a nightcap? Finally, is there an easy way to get to St. Thomas from Anguilla?
Thanks!

Easiest way between Anguilla and St. Thomas is Liat. Check the schedule and the fares at www.liatairways.com *think that's what it is. Just did it last December and it is quite pleasant! They do have a direct flight. Straw Hat was one of my favorites on Anguilla as was Olivers. Looking forward to returning in just two weeks and trying some of the ones I missed last year. Didn't care much for Mango's or the dinner at CuisinArt but lunches at Pimm's at Cap and Mailli were wonderful! Blanchard's always is mentioned but it's not on my return list because I don't much care for the Pacific Rim (fusion) influence that you find there. Other places people mention are Tasty's and E's Oven. Check www.caribbean-on-line.com for the Anguila board and there is lots of discussion about Anguilla and the restaurants! Se you there!

As Karen said everyone has their favorite and they change from year to year. The new waterfront restaurant at Altamer on the water is getting good reviews, just a short ride from your hotel. I have enjoyed Ici at Sonesta but have not been there for a few years. My favorites are Koal Keel, Malliouhana, Trattoria Tramonto, Pimms, and CoveCastles. An after dinner drink at the bar at Keemia at Cap Juluca or the bar at CuisinArt. Other good spots for dinner Straw Hat, Olivers, Sapphire, Mangos and Blanchards. Have fun!

We LOVED Blanchards, Straw Hat, Overlook...there are so many restaurants in Anguilla. For less expensive try Ripples - still great casual food. We loved Ici's for lunch (try the shrimp nachos!). We didn't have a bad meal. The atmosphere at the Mallihouna is unsurpassed, but I did find their food a bit overrated. Enjoy Anguilla - it is a wonderful island!
