restaurant suggestions

Hello, knowledgeable Fodorites:

Need some suggestions with restaurants in Aruba. We will be there (Bucuti) end of April/early May this year and would like some restaurant recommendations. We eat just about anything, so type of food is never an issue (unfortunately for our waistlines). Also, if we are booking a sunset meal, is 6:00 too early to start a meal for that time of year?

Any and all help appreciated.

I really loved the flying fishbone. It was about a 25 minute drive from our hotel but was really worth it. We had rented a car that day anyway so we didn't mind the drive. It reminds me of a little hideaway and it is so romantic. The tables are right on the beach and your feet can literally touch the water. call to make a reservation to have a table where you can see the sunset though.

Hi Nettie,

Thanks for your quick response. Could you tell me what time you have to be seated in order to catch the sunset?

Thanks,
Abbylou

I cannot remember-sorry. we just called the restaurant and said we wanted a table around sunset and asked what time that would be and they set it up. or ask the person at your front desk at the hotel.

abbylou, I just responded to a similar post! We were there last early April and sunset was around 6:45. I recommend El Gaucho (steakhouse) very yummy. Chalet suisse (continental)was also very good. I would look into Hyatt's pampered on the beach meal. I heard this was good. We did not get a chance to go there. Some others I hear are good(but did not go to) are Marandi's, Madame Janettes, the French steakhouse and Flying fishbone.

Thanks to you both for all your help. Girlonthego, thanks for the link. Went there and it is indeed helpful and current.

Abbylou
