restaurant paradise island/atlantis

hello, going to the comfort suites in paradise island near the atlantis. I understand the Atlantis is very expensive. Family of four looking for any suggestions on good eats at a reasonable price. However not willing to sacrifice good food for the price, so if we have to pay for what we get that's fine. hows bobby flays, prices? thanks

Close to Comfort Suites, you have Anthony's Bar and Grill, it's colorful, tasty, portions are big, and much cheaper than anything at Atlantis complex. Great for breakfast or dinner.

It's actually one of my favorites in Paradise/New Providence.

If you need to save money, you can walk over the bridge, or if you feel better about taking a taxi, head over to Poop deck. Nice setting in the marina, decent food, better prices again than anything in Atlantis.

Atlantis also has a Johnny Rockets at the marina complex, it's cheaper than anything around.

While the cab ride is expensive, my favorite meal is the restaurant at Compass Point. The setting is really colorful with buildings and chairs and tables all painted different colors and facing the beach. The food is really good.

At Atlantis, if you want to splurge, Mesa by Bobby Flay is excellent.

On Paradise Island, Anthony's is a good choice. For casual fare, the Green Parrot is fun and friendly (www.greenparrotbar.com)

Over the Bridge Nassau, Poop Deck, Jumbey Cafe, Montegue Gardens would be my pick. Luciano's for fine dining.

Downtown, Cafe Matisse, Ichibans' Steak House, Coconuts (casual), Da Island Cafe at Chez Willies (casual).

Downtown Lunch - Athena's Greek, and Iguanas cafe. Both upstairs overlooking Bay Street.

All are better picks and less expensive (even including the cab fare) than you'll find at Atlantis.

You can also walk down the road a little bit to the Hurricane Hole shopping Center. There is a market where you can buy snacks and drinks, etc. There are also a couple restaurants there.

We went in 2007 and the Mesa Grill was pretty expensive. It was at least $150 for two people. It was worth every penny though. Compared to everything else there I think Carmines is a great deal. Its family style with huge portions. A family of four could share one pasta and one meat dish.

Columbus Tavern on Paradise Island, Poop Deck (definitely the one at the foot of the bridge on the Nassau side, not the big one in Nassau), Conch Fritters in Nassau and agree with Chez Willie
