Restaurant in St. Thomas near shopping

We are staying in St. John but will go to St. Thomas for a day of shopping. Does anyone have a good restaurant recommendation for lunch within walking distance of the main shopping area in St. Thomas?

Yes, I can recommend two good ones:

Gladys' is right in the shopping area
Cuzzins is one block off of the shopping area and easy to get to

either one of those would be great!
(Just ate at Gladys' last month - yum - get the conch or the roti or the oxtail.)

Thanks Diana, I LOVE conch!!!

Well, then you will be very happy.

I got the conch for lunch and it was so tender! Delicious...

For some odd reason, the conch fritters were not as good - too much breading I think.

Diana - Do you know where I can get good conch in St. John?

Hi There,

Gladys' and Cuzzins are two very good choices. If you want a place with a really nice view out over the harbor try Herve's on Government Hill. Bumpa's right on the waterfront if you want a late breakfast. The Greenhouse is also on the waterfront and a caribbean version of TGI Fridays. You also have the Hard Rock Cafe right there, but it's menu is just like that you find in the states.

As you can see there are lots of choices.

cindgail, the only two places I know of are Miss Lucy's, and then there's a little place downtown one block off thge main street on the right as you go up that road that goes straight uphill to Chiily Billy's (or Willy's).

I'm not sure of the name - I think it is a man's name like Henry's or something like that.

It was hard to find local food and music on St John.

Hercules is the name of that place.
You can also try Sogo's just about across from Lime Inn. Also across from Lime Inn is Fred's, where on Wednesday night there is local music. If you ask around you can find other nights that have music too!
