Rental Car In Provo-Caicos?

I am getting the distict impression that I should book a rental car for my trip to Provo/Grace Bay. I had a couple of questions and your help is appreciated.
1- Who is best?
2- How much?
3- Do any of them provide car seats for kids?
Thanks,

Grace Bay Car Rentals is the best IMO they have cars for as low as $39 a day. Someone i know has talked to them about getting car seats and that was last year. So i imagine they have them by now. They are a fairly new company on Provo and they do their best to make costumers happy.
If you are up in the air about renting , Just rent for a couple days at first and if you think you need the car the rest of the trip add more days to your rental. As long as it's not school vacation or a very busy time, they will accomodate you.

Thanks Old Timer!
Any idea how I contact them?
Should I take a cab to the resort first?

They usually will pick you up at the Airport if you request this. There is a taxi conflict going on with the T&C Government at the moment so I'm not sure if they still are able to pick you up. Check with them when you call or e-mail.

I have rented 3 times in Provo, once from Majestic (Hertz) and twice from Avis.

Very happy with Avis and will use them again in June. Compact for $400 or so a week and they do provide car seats at an additional charge, both booster and infant.

Majestic just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Car was fine just slow and gave the impression they really don't care

We tried to rent a car through Grace Bay Car rentals for a couple of days but they were all rented, so called Rent-a-Buggy and we had a nice SUV for $60 a day. Grace Bay is $39. so its no wonder they were all rented.

if you want to drive out to malcolm road beach you will need a jeep. most of the companies will allow you to trade your car for a jeep for 1 day and just pay extra for that day.

I second Grace Bay Car rentals. I would avoid Hertz and Avis at all costs.

Which side of the car is the steering wheel on the cars from Grace Bay?

beachdreams3 Mar 20th, 2008 05:49 PM

Carol3,

Cars from Grace Bay Car Rentals have the steering wheel on the right side (opposite of cars in US). That is the only thing I didn't like about my rental with them; to me, it was harder to adjust to driving it, although some people like it better for driving on the left. GBCR was great in terms of customer service, answering questions, reliability, convenience, and price.

I just booked a car through Grace Bay rentals for April 16 -23rd, and they will be meeting me at the airport! I hope i will be able to adjust to driving on the other side of the road! So i think they still have availablity for their smaller size cars (corolla, etc.)

Thank you for the info. I also think it's more difficult to adjust to driving on the opposite side of the road in a European vs American car. I've read nothing but good reviews about GBC rentals, but will probably go with Budget or Avis because their cars having the steering wheels on the left.
