rent a car in T&C?
 

i am taking my mom to Turks & Caicos in a few weeks, staying at the Grace Bay Club. do we need to rent a car? i've never been before so i'm not sure where the hotel is in relation to shopping, restaurants, and other resorts.

any input from T&C visitors would be appreciated... thank you...

Grace Bay is about 11 miles long with most of the resorts concentrated in an area that stretches for about 6 or 7 miles. While there a couple of restaurants and few small shops within walking distance of Grace Bay Club you'll probably want to rent a car if you plan on leaving the resort to visit other places on the islands.

hi lynne, i agree you will want a car. go to www.aquamarinebeachhouses.com click on their FAQ's page and look at the map of provo they offer. it shows where most of the resorts are. i have rented happily with provo fun cycle located at ports of call mall, and from scooter bob at turtle cove marina.
you do have, imho, the best restaurant on island, anacona, at your hotel! i also like aqua bar.

Rent from AVis at the airport. You can't beat their service.

I agree with greenie - we used Avis and rented a Terios which was perfect for the terrain.

I think it was Hertz we rented from and the service was excellent. They dropped the car off at the hotel and picked it up too since our resort provided free transportation to and from the airport.
