Renaissance where? What dates are you traveling? Need more information to fully answer your question.

We stayed at the Renaissance on Aruba and it was great.

I can only comment on the location of the hotel. We drove by it on our way to the Radisson on palm Beach (which was incredible). Ihe hotel is in the middle of town (a very busy, commercialized town) right on the main drag...not on the beach. You will have a good view of the cruise ships though. The hotel itself may be lovely but I would recommend either the Radisson or Hyatt on Palm Beach. I think that is more what you are looking for based on the little info I know.

Good luck!

I was referring to the Renaissance, not the Divi.

If you prefer an in-town location and the ability to walk to some restaurants and shop then you will like the Renaissance. It only has a small man-made beach but there is a boat shuttle that will take you to their private island (the shuttles run about every 20 minutes or so and the private island closes at 6). Bit inconvenient if you left something back in your room but the island does have nice beaches and amenities.

would be hard pressed to call the Rennaisance on Aruba a 4 star property. The lack of beach, the shuttle to the private island although nice is not convenient unless you don't mind the waiting and overall the Rennaisance fits in on less than upscale Aruba. It was the Sonesta and recently converted to a Marriott property so a search for reports and information might reveal more about the facilities.

Go to http://www.aruba-bb.com/ and check out the trip reports. They recently changed their format, so you may need to search the archived trip reports.
