Rendezvous Bay

Planning first trip to Anguilla. (Tired of Aruba) I'm a nonswimmer, who loves the beach. Is the water calmest at Rendezvous Bay? Is there another location we should consider?

We will be going to Anguilla for the 3rd time next summer. The first two times we stayed on Meads Bay, at Frangipani. Wonderful hotel, and certainly the best beach I have ever seen. The water could be choppy at times, with the wind blowing. But on other days it was quiet, with the water almost like glass.
For next year we have booked to stay at the Rendezvous Bay Beach Hotel, just to try something else. The beach is beautifu, and from what I've heard, this hotel is in the most sheltered location on Rendezvous Bay. If you move further on, you get the Great Bay Beach House followed by Cuisinart. I have heard that particularly Cuisinart is often very windy, with sand blowing. The Rendezvous Bay Hotel is more basic, but as I said, the location is the best, possibly also because this is the oldest hotel on this beach so it had first choice. Hope this helps!

I stayed at the Great House on Rendezvous Bay and we did have some windy weather. I was under the impression that Shoal Bay had calmer water but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into Shoals Bay. Rendezvous seems to be the closest match.

When we went to Anguilla, we stayed on Meads Bay. The water was incredibly calm. While driving around the island, we stopped one day at Rendezvous Bay and I was surprised how choppy the water was. Perhaps it was how the wind was blowing that day. Having said that, we continued on to Shoal Bay and the water there was like glass, as it was that day on Meads Bay. FYI.
