Here are some specifics regarding the Rendezvous. When we arrived late at night for our honeymoon, they placed us in a standard room next to a common area. The rooms are very open, so it was unprivate. Besides, I prepaid for a deluxe room. After making some demands and frustration, they put us in the deluxe room.

The resort was not run down when I was there. It is at the end of the runway, and planes go in and out many times per day, so it's not exactly tranquil. It's almost funny, because as your cab exits the airport, at the end of the runway is the entrance to Rendezvous. We could have walked it.

We enjoyed our deluxe room, because it had a lush balcony with a swing. The rooms are not luxurious, but the deluxe rooms are adequate, and clean.

The bartenders were very nice and fun, and the drinks were very good. The food tasted OK, but I got very sick later in the week and was unable to eat the food for the next two days. It was strange that with so much variety at each meal, the thought of any of it made me sick. I stayed away from risky meat and fish menu items for the rest of the trip, because I suspect that the fish was responsible for my being sick.

Regarding the location. The location only has one saving grace - it's easy to get to and from the airport. That was nice considering I was anxious to leave.

There are many other resorts that are more secluded. Rendezvous is on the edge of Castries, which is somewhat run down, and really not very charming. There are few restaurants(we couldn't find any at all that were appealing). There is no real entertainment nearby. Perhaps there was some entertainment within a 20-30 minute cab ride, but we were unable to find any nearby. The location is just not what we envisioned for a tropical vacation.

The staff of Rendezvous is a lot of fun and reasonably helpful. We met a lot of fun people there, mostly British. They do have some water sports nearby, but the surf is very rough at this particular location, so it's not easy to swim. As a practical matter, snorkeling and other watersports are not really an option at this location. We left the resort to try and do those things. We were disappointed to find that ther resort was not conducive to those activities. Regardless of what they say about the available activities, you'll have to leave this resort for many of them.

The landscaping around the resort is very well kept and very beautiful. The beach is very small, and much of it is in shaded areas. However, it is well kept and very nice. If I had to do it all over again, I would stay somewhere well North of Castries or in a more secluded part of the island.

I hope you did not already book. I noticed that some others had already booked their trip, and I didn't know what to say to them. I didn't want to worry them about their trip. Although it's not ideal, it was a fun place. I would choose another resort far from Castries.
