Relocating to St Maarten

We are moving to Maarten for 3 years on an international job opportunity with my husband's bank. Just wondering if I should pack or sell some of my North American creature comforts:
1. My Tassimo machine - can you buy T- discs on the island?
2. The Soda Stream - can you get the CO2 cylinders exchanged or refilled there?

Also, are there any opinions on the Philipsburg area elementary schools? I will be going down in February to check them out, but any input would be welcomed!
Thanks!

Try posting your questions on the St. Martin Forum at traveltalk.com - there are quite a few residents who contribute on that forum. They may be able to answer your questions or direct you to someone who can.

If Soda Stream CO2 cylinders are not available on the island you could have them shipped in - same with your Tassimo discs if you can't get them there. Keep in mind, however, that shipping ANYTHING in to a Caribbean island is going to be expensive and take a "long time" unless you use Fed-EX, DHL or similar service and that will only add to your cost. We routinely have items shipped into our island and depending on the item it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. As an example, we are currently waiting for a small package (about the size of a VCR cassette) that was sent by US Priority Mail - it's been 3 1/2 weeks and still no sign of it. It will arrive when it arrives. You'll also have to pay customs duty on most everything you "ship in".
