Radisson Cable Beach or Marriott or Exuma?

Need help deciding between Radisson or Marriott on Cable Beach or maybe going to Exuma in March. We have four days at PI and then want to spend 3 somewhere else. What about transportation to Exuma? Traveling with teens.

Kristen, the only way to get to the Exumas is by Bahamas Air. There is no ferry service and I would doubt that it would be in demand. The Exumas are pretty laid back.

Eleuthera and Harbour Island are fairly easy to get to these days, there is a ferry or you could take Bahamas Air and the price is just about the same $90 or so rt/pp.

I like the Marriott better than the Raddison, and the price is just a bit better. Nice pool area, not a big beach however. You can walk either side of the hotel and find nice beach.

Lots of good restaurants in the area, so you have lots of choices.

I don't know the Exumas but I do know Harbour Island and Eleuthera, so if you want info please let me know.

On the Exumas you might try 2 other sites www.bahamas.com and www.bahamas-mon.com or for Harbour Island www.briland.com.

On Monday night there is a live chat at www.bahamas-mon.com at 8ish pm and there will be someone there that knows the area well and can answer questions.

Tell the gang there I said HI

tweedy

The Radisson is nicer than the Marriott plus the beach in front of the Marriott is almost non-existent.

Okay.....so far we are one each on Cable Beach so I doubt if it make a lot of difference. I think we will skip Exuma this time. What is there to do on Harbour Island? The kids ( oops! make that "teenagers" ) will want some activity. How much is the ferry?

Kristin, I think the kids would enjoy Harbour Island. It is very laid back there with the most amazing stretch of beach. There is a terrific dive shop on island called Valentine's and I have heard there is now a submarine to really see some of the reefs up close. They also do some great dive and snorkle trips.

The ferry is a fun way to travel and the cost is around $90rt/pp.

Hope you have a great trip.

tweedy

Recently stayed at the Marriott and it was very nice. Their beach is shared with the Nassau Beach Hotel next door and is just a short walk from the pool area. The Radisson also looked very nice and we actually ate at their restaurants more than the Marriott's because they were a little more reasonably priced. I would say whichever one you can get a better deal on would be the way to go. The Marriott's pool does stay open later than the Radisson and our kids liked that. The Marriott also had a very nice manager's reception on Thursdays with complimentary hors d'ouevres and punch
(alcoholic and non).
