Radisson Cable Beach

Does anybody have any opinions regarding Cable beach for honeymooners? We are considering staying there 7 nights for our honeymoon. The beach is important to us, but we are certainly looking for activities to participate in (not bar-hopping)besides sitting on the beach. We understand there is a casino next store. Also, how is the food and the all inclusive plan. I guess we are looking for some general opinions and advice on this resort. Would you recommend staying there? Is 7 days too much to spend there? Thank you.

It's a very nice resort with a beautiful beach. I don't know if I'd recommend the all inclusive plan. I like to explore local restaurants. When we were at the Radisson certain restaurants were only open certain nights and it would limit your choices. Yes, the casino is at the hotel next door. There is an enclosed walkway with shops between the two hotels. They offer water sport activites and Cafe Johnny Canoe(which is two hotels down from the Radisson) had a Junkanoo night which is fun and festive. Five nights would probably be enough, but if you really like relaxing on the beach, go for the seven!

Thanks for your reply schmerl. I was wondering if the all inclusive plan was worth it there. Are there many food options in walking distance from the hotel?

If you are going on a honeymoon, I would suggest one of the resorts on Harbour Island, which is about a 2 hour fast ferry ride from Nassau, you could stay on Nassau for a few nights then head over to Harbour Island, and I would suggest Compas Point instead of the Raddison. It is much more romantic and has a fabulous beach. The accomodations are bungalows right on the beach. There is a wonderful restaurant on site as well.

There is a bus that will take you downtown during the day for site seeing and shopping, and there are cabs at night.

You might try the www.briland.com website or our favorite hotel in the Bahamas www.runawayhill.com (small and intimate) or www.romorabay.com (Romora Bay has honeymoon specials)

There are lots of things to see and do on Nassau and some fun shopping. On the outislands, is mainly relaxing, good food and a great beach, some fun nite life and you can walk everywhere.

Hope this helps, have a GREAT time.

Radisson would be lousy for a honeymoon IMO. I agree, look into Compass Point or Sandals Royal Bahamian if you really need AI. You want your honeymoon to be memorable. There's lots to do in Nassau but I think one week would be a bit much. Make sure you do a day trip to Harbour Island or another out island.

Too big, too impersonal. Rooms so-so, service so-so. Why are you stuck on the Radisson anyway?? I am sure you want your honeymoon to be nice. You can stay at the Radisson anytime with all the crowds, confusion etc. The beach area as I recall was jammed with people. Not what I would envision for a honeymoon. Do yourself a favour and look for something a bit nicer. And don't tie yourself into ALL INclusive in Nassau. There are too many nice restaurants.

I know of a friend who went there with her family and she loved it. Just loved it. She is not a large traverler but she said it was great. I think people who travel more frequently would offer differing opinions. I have never been so I cannot say from a personal stand point.

Thanks for everybodys replies. We are looking for a good honeymoon resort, for novice travelers, where there is more to do then go to the beach everyday. Any ideas?
