My husband and I are planning our first trip to Aruba at the end of September. We are staying at the Radisson. I have heard that the hotel is divided into three different buildings.. can anyone one tell me which is the best. We would want to be centrally located to the restaurants/pool/lobby etc.<BR>Also, any suggestions for restaurants would be helpful! I already have Madame Janettes, Flying Fishbone and El Gaucho on my list.<BR>Thank you so much! <BR>Michelle

we stayed at the radisson in jan 2002 and are returning this november. we were in the building next to the aruba grand - not best location, but the rooms are fabulous. try to get a partial oceanview. everything is convenient. like this hotel better than hyatt 'cause its a bit less formal. good restaurant choices - flying fishbone is only open for dinner - it's right on the beach. the chateau restaurant is also good. there is no shortage of places to eat. have a great time!!

One "high-rise" tower over the lobby, Aruba Tower. The other two buildings are "low-rise," 3 or 4 levels, called "Bonaire" and "Curacao." Aruba is probably the best located, but some people like not having to use the elevator to get up to their rooms.

Hi Michelle! My husband and I returned yesterday from the Radisson Aruba, it was our first visit to Aruba.I will post a trip report later but I can briefly answer your inquiry on room /bldg locations. We were in the the Curacao bldg, we had a room initially in the Aruba tower but it was a bad view(supposedly partial oceanview) and overlooked a parking lot. We then switched to the Curacao bldg, it was somewhat better. I don't think either of the three buildings is superior, all are similar. Property is easily accessible via either of the three. Next time we would reserve a full oceanfront to guarantee a good view of the ocean. The Radisson pools/beach/property is excellent, far superior to the Hyatt's cramped and very crowded(especially with kids!)pool area.I did not think the Radisson's rooms were anything special personally and found them only adequate. The beach and pool make up for that shortcoming luckily.Restaurant suggestions include Flying Fish, Trattoria del vittorio(?)-excellent Italian food and El Gaucho for their steaks.Have a great time!Sue

One more thing, we were on the 6'th floor of the Curacao bldg. and needed to always use the elevator. You can't assume you won't need an elevator by requesting this bldg. if you are on the upper floors. The two elevators tend to have an annoying habit of breaking frequently in the Curacao, but the Radisson people are great about fixing them asap. (It might be more of a problem granted if it breaks when your in it).

My wife and I just got back last night 8/29 and I can definitely hook you up.<BR><BR>1. I would stay in the main building it is central accross the board. If you cant than go the the second building over...the third is too cut off.<BR><BR>2. Pay extra for a full ocean view. I think it was $50 more per night and they go fast.<BR><BR>3. You want to be on floors 5, 6, 7 or 8...anything lower and you are close to the roof of the lobby.<BR><BR>4. the higher the room number the loser to the ocean.<BR><BR>We were in room 1806 - 8th floor <BR><BR>You want 06, 08, 10 , 12, 14, 18<BR> <BR>06 is closer to the elevator, 18 is closer to the ocean<BR> <BR>Here is a good tip as well...make your husband get up at 7am to reserve a beach cabana...he can leave the towels and go back to bed, but it is worth it!<BR><BR>We had an amazing time...enjoy!<BR><BR>Larry - NYC
