Quick trip for 10 yr anniversary
I am researching a quick trip to the caribbean for our 10 yr anniversary (either oct or nov). We can go 4-5 days max since our daughter will be staying home with the in-laws. I can't seem to decide what would be our best option. We strongly prefer quiet/remote places with great white sand beaches. Our favorite vacations have been to Eleuthera/Anguilla/Virgin Gorda. Also been to Turks (enjoyed the beaches), Tortola, and Curacao, Cancun. I think Bermuda would suit best for this trip since it would be a quick flight from Newark and we could maximise our time on the island. However not sure we would enjoy Bermuda (especially for an anniversary trip). Don't think we want to stay at a convention type hotel. Any suggestions on Bermuda for accomodations. Also if not Bermuda where else...Other options I am considering are Parrot Cay. Any other suggestions? Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks

Bermuda can be chilly in Nov. (maybe Oct too-it's on par with South Carolina)
Parrot Cay is an excellent choice. Other considerations: Harbour Island (If you didn't go when you where in Eleuthera) Check out either Coral Sands or Pink Sands Resorts. Four Seasons in Exumas Bahamas. The Beach House in Barbuda. (No children allowed, so great to check out without children) |
Thanks Blamona for the input. We did visit HI while on Eleuthera. Four seasons, Exuma is definately on our short list. We may decide to save that for a trip with our daughter. The beach house Barbuda looks nice. With all these places my major concern would be time spent travelling.

Timothy Beach Resort in St. Kitts. There is now a direct flight from JFK to SK starting Nov.18th.

How about Hermatige Bay in Antigua? It's our next place. We took a trip to Jamaica in March and stayed at The Caves in Negril. One of the best trips we have ever had. We can't wait to go back and may if Antigua doesn't work out as direct flights are prefered with only a few nights away from the kids. Search on this site for the caves and you will get several trip reports. It would be an amazing place for an anniversary trip. Cave dinners and sunset hot tubs. It doesn't get more romantic. Really amazing and you don't want or need to leave the resort as it is paradise. You won't miss not having sand either.

Thanks beachbum and murffdog. Will look into flight times for st kitts/nevis and see if that is workable. Also have seen trip reports on the caves on this board and it definately appears to be a good pick for an anniversary.
