We are back from our third annual trip to Negril, Feb 20-25th. As usual we had a great time! Here is a quick trip report.

We once again stayed at the Idle Awhile. The deluxe rooms were full, so we splurged and got a one bedroom suite. The room is huge and the verandah is very spacious. It only has air conditioning in the bedroom, which could bother some people. We were fine with it as we only like to be cool when sleeping. The location on the beach is very central and they have a very nice beach area with plenty of lounge chairs.

We didn’t do any activities. We just enjoyed the sun and warmth and walked the beach a lot. We did see 2 sting rays swimming along the shore, which was pretty cool.

For dinner, we enjoyed our favorites – Rockhouse and 3 Dives on the cliffs, Norma’s and Angela’s on the beach. We tried the Best of the West jerk chicken across the street from our hotel. It is good and inexpensive. We also went to Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville for the obligatory cheeseburger. It has such a great atmosphere with tables on the beach.

We used Talk of the Town tours for airport transfers. David did our transfers, which was nice because we can easily find him since we recognize him from our past years.

Tweeter,Thank you for a great trip report.We almost booked Idle Awhile for our trip in April then decided on a cliff resort instead.I knew Idle Awhile would be a good choice.Maybe if we can go back in the fall we'll stay at Idle Awhile.It looks and sounds wonderful!

Thanks for the report! We're staying at Idle Awhile in June and have also had to splurge on a suite since all the deluxe rooms are full. I'm trying to supress my stingy tendencies and just go with the flow! We're going in June -- hope the a/c won't be too big of an issue. We are from Texas and are quite used to the heat ;) I'm so glad to hear you had a great time. Will definitely be using your restaurant recommendations.
