Questions about viceroy and meads bay
My fiancee and I are planning a honeymoon in early may. As of now we still can't decide where to go (so many choices!!) but the Viceroy in Anguilla caught my eye. We want really great rooms and close to the beach. Just two quick questions:
1. I'm interested in the rooftop suite but other than a floor plan I haven't been able to find many pics of the room and nothing of the rooftop (just some pics of the stairs going up). Has anyone stayed in a rooftop suite at the viceroy that is willing to give impressions of the room (or know where I can find info/pics for particular rooms)? 2. My second question is about the beach itself. I've heard conflicting reviews of the beach. I know it's personal preference and also matters when you go but can anyone give any feedback on the beach? Just in comparison to other beaches on the island. Any help is appreciated :-) |
We've never stayed at the Viceroy, but we've stayed next door at the Anacaona, which shares a beach with it. We typically go during April shoulder season, when it's pretty quiet. But we found the beach to be wonderful there. Meads Bay is our favorite beach to stay on Anguilla because besides being beautiful and very swimmable, many great restaurants are on it (Jacala, Straw Hat, etc.) It's also very close to two of our favorite restaurants on the island -- Mango's and Picante. The Viceroy property is also gorgeous, from what we've seen. I've heard that during busy season, the beach can be an issue because the two hotels essentially share the same beach area -- so it's more crowded and concerns over using hotel's chairs, etc. But that wasn't an issue during our stay.
