Question re: Idle Awhile Beach
 

Hi. When you enter the water, is it shallow for a while or does it drop off quickly? (Think 4-year-old child who doesn't swim yet). I've looked at some of the past posts about the place but did not see anything specifically about this. Thank you.

It is shallow for a while and crystal clear with soft white sand. IA also has chair mats that double as rafts.

That is a great beach for youngsters. That is one of the reasons that very few people use pools in Negril.

Thank you. The fact that there's no pool at Idle Awhile started to concern me. I just wanted to make sure he could safely enjoy himself on the beach and in the water.
