Punta Cana - Paradisus vs Iberostar Grand vs Excellence

We are a couple in early 40's, interested in our first all inclusive experience, we like Luxury options, usually cruise but wanted to try All Inclusive. Looking for best luxury experience as well as variety of things to do - ie restaurants, good shows at night.

Can anyone give in depth opinions of Paradisus vs Iberostar experience in Punta Cana?

Both are great resorts, but I would give a step up to the IB Grand. The IB Grand is adults only, great service, ala carte dining, etc.
There will be children at Paradisus.

I haven't been to the DR but I have stayed at 2 different Iberostar Grands (Jamaica and Paraiso (Mexico)) and we really liked both of them. Both properties are very similar so I'm assuming the one in the DR is similar as well. They have very good food, great service, and the shows in Jamaica were surprisingly good. We didn't go to any of the shows in Mexico. We will definitely vacation at Iberostar Grand again.
