punta cana dress code

I am leaving with my husband in July to Punta Cana all inclusive resort called Palladium Bavaro Grand resort. I know that men have to wear long pants for dinner. Beside that, is it casual like club med.? I like to dress very simple on vacation

I just came back from Secret Excellence in Punta Cana. Yes, they want men to wear long pants in the dining rooms for dinner, but it's VERY casual.

Do the men also have to wear closed-toe shoes in Punta Cana, as dinner wear?

I'm just thinking that if they're asking men to wear long pants, they'd probably think of closed-toe shoes as being more appropriate as well.

The resorts usually only have one or two restaurants where they request long pants. We saw men in shorts even in the restaurants that said "long pants". I don't think there would be a problem with sandals.

We stayed at the Palladium in September for eight nights. There are three "specialty" restaurants (Mexican, International and Seafood) that you have to make a reservation for. Those three restaurants required men to wear long pants. The other places to eat in the evening are buffets. I think I saw everything at the buffets except bathing suits.
