PUNTA CANA
Paradisus Resort - Anyone stay at Paradisus Punta Cana? How is the food? Also, do they speak English?
Is the water safe to drink there?
Would you recommend a different resort, all inclusive?
Thanks in adance for any help.

I have not been to this particular resort, but you can not drink the water in Punta Cana. Also, most people will speak English (or at least some English). You should not have any major problems with communication.

Staff at all-inclusives will speak functional if not fluent English, probably not the maid who cleans your room or the gardeners/caretakers, but front desk, bartenders, waiters, people who are frontline with tourist will.
I've never been to Punta Cana but this is pretty standard at resorts anywhere Spanish-speaking.
I never drink tap water anywhere (Caribbean, Mexico, etc.) Most resorts will provide you with bottled water.

The likelyhood of finding someone here on Fodor's who has stayed at a specific resort in Punta Cana is kinda slim.
Maybe someone will chime in???
But you might want to get on over to Trip Advisor forum and look at DR posts... both in the Destination Forums (similar format to here at Fodor's) and also the Hotel Reviews section.

I agree to read the reviews on TripAdvisor. We just recently stayed at the Elegance and the food was meh. Not outwardly bad but about the same as you would find in most hotel restaurants and mid level cruise ships. We didn't worry too much about the food and concentrated on the rum
