Punta Cana

I will be traveling to Punta Cana with a friend the last week in March. We are staying at Royal Suites Turquesa by Pallidum adults only resort. If anyone knows any good information about this resort and what is around the area we can walk to that would be great. We will definitely take advantage of the all inclusive food/drinks but will also like to step off the resort and have a lil fun :)

I was in Punta Cana 20 years ago and just stayed in the resort. What we saw outside didn't motivate us.

Cannot comment on your resort. I have never been to an adult only (and will never) so don't know if it is funnier or not. I like to have kids around.

yeah we stay far AWAY from places with kids so ADULTS ONLY for us FOREVER :) I'm sure things have changed in 20 years

Hope for you. It was boring then. Happily I was with my own kid. Gave us something to do and enjoy.
If things didn't change - like no culture no city just the beach you ll still have the bar.

People don't seem to leave the resort properties much in Punta Cana, I don't think there's actually a town to walk to, is there? I'm speaking only from reading posts over the years I've never been to that part of the DR.

We had fun in Puerto Plata and Sousua but those are quite a distance from where you're staying. I think (?) "stepping off the resort" would require renting a car to go out to nearby towns.

Hopefully others will chime in with more recent experience. But not to many DR posters here on Fodor's.

If you walk onto the beach and turn and walk to the right, then you will come across a small "shopping/dining" area. We researched Captain Cook's and Onnos. We walked down that way but when all was said and done we didn't go to eat or drink. They have web sites, and facebook pages that you can check out. It is 500 yards down the beach.
