Puerto Rico - Honeymoon

Help! My fiance' and I are looking to book our honeymoon for the first two weeks in August of 2014. We are looking at either Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands (we have some restrictions about traveling outside of the US or else we would consider many other places). We are looking for an adult all-inclusive with pools/swim up bars - jsut a nice place to relax on our honeymoon. We don't need many activities, just a nice pool and beaches. Any sugesstions??

Unless there has been a very recent change there is only ONE All inclusive Resort in Puerto Rico - Copamarina Beach Resort on the southern coast of the island near Gunanica.

Just so you know, All Inclusives are not very popular in Puerto Rico or the USVI's.

You'll have a lot more choices if you drop your requirement for All Inclusive.

That resort offers a meal plan but does not include alcohol beverages. It's location is out in the middle of nowhere, which is why they have to offer meal plans. If you chose that resort make sure you rent a car.

The Club Med Sandpiper in Florida is an all inclusive, but not adult only. I don't beleive they have a swim up bar either in their pool.

Here is list of top 10 AI's in the United States. They all welcome families. No adults only. They are probably going to way more expensive than finding food and drinks on your own. The best AI's are in Mexico, Jamaica and Dominican Republic because their prices are not cost prohibitive for people to actually pay.

I don't know about all inclusives in PR but I'm Puerto Rican and travel there often. I wouldn't consider it a honeymoon location BUT if you are going to go to Puerto Rico, I would look into El Conquistador http://elconresort.com/ .
If you do I recommend you book a room in the Marina area, the views and rooms are my favorite and they have a nice bar on the Marina and closest to the hotels boat that takes you to their private Island. Only draw back to staying in the Marina is the distance from the main hotel & Casino. I think they have meal plan options. They also have a water park on the property.

The property is located in Farajdo so it's close to the ferries that take you to Culebra & Vieques.

I would look into stay on one of those islands since they have the best beaches PR has to offer (in my opinon)

There is a W hotel on Vieques:
