Provo: Coral Gardens vs. Condos at Coral Gardens?

What's the difference between these two? Is one part of the other? Thanks

I just booked the Coral Garden I thought and they put us in the reef resort which is about 200 yards away behind the construction of the Windsong. The Coral Gardens Condo I think are closer to the beach right next to the constuction. We had a hard time hearing each other while "relaxing on the beach" over the construction. I wrote about my trip at http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...5&tid=34955979
which highlight the low lights of our trip. The Toscana is another construction project to start on the other side. Beware!

We stayed at Coral Gardens this past summer in July for 9 days. We stayed at what appeared to be newly built condos towards the back of the property, away from the beach. The "condo" was really nice and we thought it was rented out while the owners were gone. I found out that CG sells condos, not like time shares, where the owners hold the title and can stay there for 28 days, pretty much any time they want to. And, they can rent it out when there not there during their 28 day stays. Right on the beach were very plush condos. I didn't see any type of hotel rooms that were rented like in other resorts. The land development on Providenciales was too much for me, as venturen pointed out. I will not return, although the coral reef offshore was very nice. But, too much hubbub; I'd never buy a place there, for it will be total cement in a short time.

The difference is fueding competing partners. Coralgardens.com, owns the restaurant, the Reef Residences (the ones venturen stayed at behind construction) and some units at original Coral Gardens. They include breakfast with the rates. They promote RR as CG-so beware!!!!
Coralgardensongracebay.com owns the rest of the units at original Coral Gardens. They do not include breakfast, but you're going to get the "original".
Both have separate check-ins, and neither helps the other. The name is in litigation. The units are nice, there is tons of construction around it like venturen says. (3 sides of it)

I would highly recommend until it settles, just stay away.

Thanks blamona for explaining it. Our rates included breakfast, so we must have booked in with the first company you mentioned. The owner of the properties said he's working on a development project down in Panama as well. Robert59
