Pre-cruise hotel in San Juan
 

There seems to be more activity on the Caribbean site than the cruise site, so I'm seeking help here first....We arrive in San Juan at 6 pm(no time for doing much)the night before a cruise on the Celebrity Summit. Does anyone know of a hotel with a free airport shuttle and also drop-off at the pier the next day?

We stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel before our Panama canal cruise with RCCL. It was a great hotel with a great restaurant. Had booked transfers thru Rccl so don't know about shuttles, but great place to stay.

There are no hotels in San Juan with free airport shuttles. However, there is a free bus in Old San Juan that passes by the cruise pier there (if you are sailing from the other pier, then you still have to take a taxi).

Sheraton Old San Juan is the most convenient location to the Old San Juan cruise piers, but it's kind of expensive. There are some cheaper options, but I think staying in Old San Juan is the best alterantive since you probably won't arrive in the hotel much before 7:30 or 8, and then you will have dozens of restaurants wtihin an easy walk.

By the way, Howard Johnson Plaza de Armas usually has fairly cheap rates, though there are much nicer hotels in Old San Juan.

There is a hotel, I would rate 2-3 star at the airport, but it is inexpensive, and it might pay to stay there and taxi to the cruise port. We stayed there 3 years ago because of an overnight lay-over to the Grenadine Islands and it was fine and I think then it was $130+/-. I cannot imagine the taxi can be more than $25 and yoy can board after 12 noon most likely so that is another option.
