PoincianBeaches Inn.

Hi. We (wife, 3 kids, myself) just booked a week in February at the old Poinciana Hotel (now known as Beaches Inn). Has anyone stayed there recently? How is it? We have a beachfront one room suite. Is there a certain room number you would recommend? We want a good view and quiet, because we have a one year old. Food good? Lots of activities for the kids? Nice, friendly staff? How clear is the water? Any recommendations for day trips with kids? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - I visited Poinciana in October. It has a lot of potential to be a very nice property. The Sandal's staff is busy upgrading all the area's of this property and it will be officially Beaches Inn on January 1st. With that said, you will enjoy bopping over to Beaches Negril with your family as it's a wonderful property and it will give your family more daily options. I think if you request a recently refurbished room you will be very happy. The ride to Negril is a little long (2 hours+) as there is tons of construction. We actually took the 9 minute flight back to MoBay instead of the bus. The kids center at Beaches Negril is far superior so you might want to take them over there and enjoy your days at that property. You must try to get Eric at Komono's for a fabulous Tappan dinner...he puts on a wonderful show!! Kimono's is at Beaches Negril. If you have any other specific questions give me and e-mail. Otherwise you'll have a great time!

Susan,
We're planning on staying at Beaches Negril in mid-March. How's the food? Activities for a four year old and a six month old? How much was the commuter flight? Thanks,
Seamus

We just got back December 12th and stayed there for 2 weeks.
The resort was supposed to change over on January 1st so you could have access privileges to Beaches and Sandals Negril but it changed over December 1st when we were there.
We got a refurbished room.(not a suite, though) It was very nice. I believe all rooms are oceanview.
The food is very good, the water is very clear. The staff were really friendly. If you would like more information on this resort, email me and let me know.
