I agree if I were going to pick from what you've asked, I'd do the wharf too. Papagallo was not our cup of tea. A lot of money for the food [and service - geez, I'm all for island time, but that was a bit much]. The wharf is nice, but not extravagent. If going to the Wharf, call ahead and make reservations and ask to have a table by the water held.

I will agree though, if going somewhere for a nice night out, I'd pick the Lighthouse as well.

We enjoyed The Wharf so much that we ate there three times in one week!
The Reef was also nice, but had to move inside because flies swarmed our food when it was served - but the sea bass was excellent!! Coconut Joe's serves a great, inexpensive breakfast - loved their hash brown casserole!
We also had a good lunch at the Westin and at the Hyatt. Please rent a car and explore the entire island - you can't get lost - it's not that big. Rum Point is beautiful and we had a great lunch at the restaurant/bar on the beach. I do wish we would have had our suits along that day so we could have gone into the water - it's so clear there. Enjoy your trip!

We're probably going to rent a scooter and spend a day hitting Smith's cove, Rum Point, etc. I know the group will have a chartered boat where we'll snorkel more and do stingray city.

I'm still undecided about Pampered ponies...

I wanted to do Edoardo's but it's not ocean front and that's part of the fun of being on an island. I'm from the midwest so oceans are pretty cool. ;o)

Has anyone been to Grand Old House?

I'm probably wrong, but the Lighthouse just looks a little 'fake' to me? Most people love it, so it's probably just me.

The Wharf seems to get mixed reviews. I saw the wedding special on the Travel channel it looks like it's a great wedding destination but the chairs are plastic.

Sometimes I obsess a little too much.

The Lighthouse is anything but fake. It is truly one of the best restaurants on GC. It's a bit out of the way from 7MB and many people who don't rent cars never get to experience it. You really won't be disappointed and the views from there are awesome.

You mention renting a scooter and going to Rum Point. I would rent a car instead. It's a long drive up there if your staying on 7MB.

Anyone have opinions on treehouse restaurant? or Rum Point Restaurant? Thinking of dinner there as we're going to be at Rum Point all day Friday?

The Treehouse restaurant no longer exists, as far as I know. Ivan took care of it, unfortunately.

If it were me, and was spending a full day at Rum Point, I'd eat lunch at the Wreck Bar [you are not allowed to bring food to the beach there]. Good jerk chicken sandwich...even the fish and chips are pretty good there. OR, since you rented a car to do this, I'd take a break from the beach...drive the coastline, snorkel at Queen's Monument or take a picnic lunch in the car [buy a styro cooler at Hurleys or Fosters] and head off for some seclusion, starfish, and beauty at Ivory Kai.

For dinner, I'd try Portofino's or the Lighthouse since I was out that way [well, we stay out that way...but you know what I mean].

The food at the Kaibo isn't all that impressive, or wasn't last time we were there, and they only had the beach bar open, not the restaurant upstairs.

I have some photos of the area, and would post them, if I could here.

I'm so excited 20 days away! I'm making my ressies and wanted to go over them with you all...
1st night dinner @ Blue [at Ritz] on the balcony.
2nd night the Lighthouse
3rd night Calypso Grill
4th and Final night [boo hoo] the Reef Grill [live music afterwards too]

One day we're renting a car to head to Rum Point and explore the island a little on the way to and from. Of course, snorkel and hang out at Rum Point. Ivory Kai to see starfish. Eden Rock to snorkel... Lunch and drinks at Wreck bar. Hammocks. Hoping to hit the Tortuga Rum Factory and sample and buy cakes. [or skip and buy at airport??] The Wharf has happy hour that evening that we'll try to hit [time permitting]. This is the night we're planning on going to the Lighthouse for late dinner. Probably trying to cram too much into this day...might end up just loafing and snorkeling at Rum Point.

Another day, the group usually does a charter boat where I'm assuming we'll hit stingray city/sandbar.

So sad, we have to head to airport so won't be able to hit the Westin Brunch. Boo Hoo.

We're going to do a couples' stone massage at the spa [hubby's request]. Probably skipping the horse thing. Just not enough time.

I think your itinerary looks fine.

We buy the rum at the airport duty free, but we usually end up buying our cakes at the Tortuga store near the Turtle Farm [after eating enough samples to choke a horse].

We both seem to remember that the cakes were cheaper at the airport than the store, but bad us...we really don't pay that much attention to what they cost. Something we both just realized! Yikes.

I'd also like to suggest that if you get the time stop by the Antica Gelataria. Wonderful Gelato. The family that owns it are delightful. We somehow find a way to stop by here regularly each year!

I've heard Rum Point and Smith's Cove are shallow. Also Stingray City has a sandbar area that's shallow.

Please don't forget Seymore's jerk chicken by the airport if you need a quick lunch. It was sooo good. Just some people barbequing up chicken and serving it out of a hut. Bring your own cold beers.
