Please help Wedding/Honeymoon

Message: We want to a carribean island to get married and honeymoon. Not against the idea of splitting our stay but if we could find the "perfect spot" for everything then we would prefer. Looking for not to many complications on the wedding ceremony; great beach to hang out at, some water sports, decent(fun) night life and great food - we also like a luxury resort - we are pretty easy going and not picky, complainers. Heard some real negative things about Sandals so I am real leary. I have been looking and looking and I'm getting desparate.... Getting married second week in May. PLEASE HELP THANKS

what about Le Source in Granada? My friends just got married there and LOVED IT! Very exclusive. I am not sure how much, but I am sure you can check out the website.

libra, It really depends on what your budget is. If looking to go on the more luxury (pricey) side, Cap Juluca in Anguilla. There is also Jumby Bay in Antigua which is located on a private island and is a luxury all-inclusive. But if looking for nightlife, this would not be the resort. I have also heard great things about Couples Negril.

We honeymooned in Antigua last year and really enjoyed the island. We were married at Sandals Antigua and they did a wonderful job with our ceremony. I know that you said you are a little leary of Sandals (as was I) but we really had no complaints and plan on returning this year. I will say that I would not pay full price for their resorts, but with the 35% discount it was well worth it. Sandals Antigua also seems to be a favorite of the frequent Sandals guests (I actually have no interest in any of their other resorts).

The resort has great landscaping, very lush/tropical and well kept. The beach is large and they offer many watersports. There are 5 pools/whirlpools, a spa, and 5 restaraunts. The food was good, although nothing spectacular. They did a candlelight dinner for us the night of our wedding which was steak & lobster and I have to say that was the best meal we had. They also served us a great breakfast in bed the morning after the wedding. You don't go to an AI for the food though, I will say that (we are not picky and were happy as long as the food wasn't awful and our tummies were full). Drinks were plentiful and always good. We enjoyed the all-inclusive aspect because we didn't have to think about our finances for an entire week. They also offered nightly entertainment that we always enjoyed. It usually consisted of a steel drum band and one night a week they have a beach barbeque which was good. After the entertainment is done, the disco and piano bar open up.

It all depends on your budget and where exactly you want to go. If you have any questions, please ask! Congrats and good luck in choosing!

We were married onthe yacht that the Grand Lido Negril owns. It was wonderful, very private and upscale - not cheesy! They literally took care of every detail and the pictaures onthe yacht at sunset are amazing. It is a more luxurious resort without being stuffy.

We too did split our wedding/honeymoon and jumped over to Sandals Negril/ It is more active and casuall so perfect for the carefree part of the trip. We have been to several Sandals and never encountered a problem. But if you are nervous about Sandals, there are also Couples in the area that get good reviews or do the GL split and fly over to the other GL San Souci in Ocho Rios - beleive they have a good special on spliting the two resorts.

Penney
