Please help me this time for my honeymoon
Someone please reply this time. I am trying to decide between Barbados or Jamaica for my Honeymoon in June. We want an all inclusive that includes diving and has spa facilities. Posibilities are Almond Beach Club or Sandals Dunns River. Has anyone been to these or can you recommend others.

If you want a real spa (as opposed to a single room where one masseuse works) consider these resorts:
--Cambridge Beaches or Sonesta in Bermuda (not Caribbean, but great for a June honeymoon)*
--Ritz Carlton in Puerto Rico*
--Swept Away in Jamaica
--Ciboney in Jamaica
--Round Hill in Jamaica
--LeSport in St. Lucia
--Royal St. Lucian in St. Lucia
--La Source in Grenada
--Jackie's on the Reef in Jamaica*
*means not all-inclusive, but they may have meal packages
I think that Jalousie Hilton in St. Lucia may have a spa also, but I have not been there personally.
There are probably more places I am missing, but these are the spas I have used.

I think you replyed to my post asking just about the same question. Jamaica or Barbados. Well to share some research, I am leaning toward Barbados, but not all inclusive. I decided against Jamaica because all of the all-inclusives tend to be crowded. They offer last minute deals if they are not at capacity, and tend to fill up. I dont like this idea for my honeymoon. Plus the fact that you shouldnt really leave your compound(some argue this, but I want to roam freely). I am leaning towards Royal Pavilion or Colony Club on Barbados, without the meal plan. These two places are supposed to be great. I have heard that Almond is too overpriced for what you get, and the beach your on is public?? I have also found that so many good and fun restaurants are in St.James and Holetown, and I am into trying different places and exploring a little. As far as scuba, many posts speak well of the organized groups that scuba near St.James, which we are going to try out. The prices I have for RP for 7days including air is 3600, and CC for 3200. This is about 1000 less than allinclusive, and I prefer to choose when and where I eat. Especially because we wont eat 3 meals a day. We also plan on renting a car for a day or two and exploring the west and south coasts, for some surfing. Anyways, I understand your frustration, Good luck. Post what you decide.

I think we may go for Jamaica as the all inclusives there seem to have a lot more facilities than Barbados. I'd prefer all inclusive because we would have 3 meals a day and have our fare share to drink! Haven't decided where yet though the Sandals Negril does sound appealing and has some good reviews on here.

Dear Lisa,
I would definitely steer away from Almond Beach. We were there in November and were very disappointed. Out of about 7 or 8 trips to the Caribbean we have taken this was definitely the worst.
You can't compare it with jamaica - we had gone to Ciboney and really enjoyed it. Almond beach had people hassling you at the beach, shortages of everything from clean towels at the beach to french fries at the grill, the food at at least two restaurants was pretty horrible, they served canned fruit on this tropical island - I can go on and on. And Ciboney had a nice spa. Good luck and happy honeymooning

Sandals Negril is wonderful !!!!
We were there last yr and loved it. The beach is miles long and the sunset is awsome. The resort is very laid back and
the staff is the greatest. We just returned from the Royal Bahamian Feb 13,
and that is a beautiful resort also. The Jamacians are much more friendly. We will be back at one of those resorts
again next year to renew our wedding vows, on our 25th anniversary. Need any info on Negril just email me!

Hi Lisa,
You might want to look into Point Village, Negril. The grounds are gorgeous (about 17 acres), as is the beach (also great for snorkeling). People are very warm and the service is excellent. In addition, you'll find a PADI 5 star diving centre. Don't miss the sunset cruise on board a catamaran. It offers the best sunsets we've ever seen. Congratulations on your wedding! Have a great time.

I haven't been to either, but do know that when we came home on plane from honeymoon *in ST Lucia* we stopped at Barbados & those who'd stayed at Almond Beach were quite disappointed... food bad, etc. We will never go there b/c of the experiences they had. It is quite costly for what you are getting.... too bad Barbados didn't have some good ALL inclusives.
We went to a Sandals Resort in St. Lucia & loved our stay. Service was best we've had, food was beyond yummy, rooms nice, just a GREAT trip.
