Please help me pick an island for my 50th Birthday trip
I will be celebrating my 50th birthday in February. My husband told me to pick a trip. Please help me pick the perfect Caribbean Island. Nothing to built up. Can someone recommend a very romantic resort? Thanks!

What kind of things are you looking for in your "perfect" island? What activities would you like to do?

out on a limb here, knowing paris is a serious contender for this trip and nothing else about what you have in mind or if you've been to any islands before.
so, just some random ideas: nevis - the four seasons resort or nisbet plantation anguilla - cap juluca, ku, or cuisinart antigua - galley bay or jumby bay st. martin - l'esplanade or grand case beach club. st. lucia - ladera or anse chastanet |
I split my 50th birthday trip into two: one week at Parrot Cay (Turks and Caicos); another week, three months later, at Biras Creek (Virgin Gorda). Pricey, but worth every penny. If not now, then when? Congratulations!

Anguilla would be perfect :)

Not the caribbean, but wouldn't Hawaii be perfect? You know - Hawaii 5-0 !!!

St Lucia is a beautiful Isalnd.
Anse has a nice natural beach wirh good snorkelng. |
Fly USA through Charlotte if that is convenient. Fly from Charlotte non stop to St. Maarten, have Cap Juluca on Anguilla arrange for a private boat charter to take you from SXM to CJ. It's around $250.00 for two people. Spend 5/6/7 nights at CJ. Take the ferry back over to SXM and spend 3/4/5 nights at La Samanna. Go into Phillipsburg and shop. Have lunch in Merigot on the French Side of the island. Fly back home from SXM on USA non stop to Charlotte, NC.
Eat at Blanchard's, Straw Hat, Mango's and Oliver's. http://www.anguillaguide.com/article/archive/13/ http://www.capjuluca.com/ http://www.lasamanna.com/web/omar/omar_a1a_splash.jsp |
Turning 50 is all about being pampered and I chose the FS in Nevis. Wonderful swimming pools, the most comfortable beds, very relaxing and so many wonderful places to dine around the island at night. I left with a total feeling of wellbeing.

I agree about Anguilla and Cap Juluca. We stayed at Cuisinart and loved it madly but I think from what I've read, CJ may be more romantic.
If you're not stuck on a resort, how about a private villa in the hills of St. Barts? Most have killer views. I've been to practically every island in the Caribbean and, in my opinion, St. Barts and Anguilla are the best! Just keep in mind that Anguilla is basically flat and arid while St. Barts has lots of very high hills. Not many resorts on St. Barts but the ones there are very highly rated and more expensive than renting a villa. |
