Please Help Me Decide-Bucuti or Manchebo?

My husband and I are going to Aruba 4/22-29/00. We are having trouble deciding between FULL Ocean View, 2-dbl bed room at Manchebo or PARTIAL OV, king bed/seating area w/couch at Bucuti. Can you still see/hear the ocean from these rooms? I guess you can tell this is kind of important to us even though we won't be spending a lot of time in room, we like to sit and have coffee on balcony in morning and evening an gaze at ocean. Have heard good things about both resorts, but wondered if anyone has opinion of one over the other. Price for both is about the same so is not an issue. Thanks for any info. Cathy

You cant go wrong with either hotel...My husband and I stayed at the Manchebo in March of 98...we absolutely fell in love with Aruba...you have picked the best beach in Aruba as far as I am concerned...The rooms at the Manchebo are more in an arch shape so you go have a great view..we were on the second floor...the rooms themselves are nothing spectacular but the view and the beach is really all we cared about...you sound alot like us...we would get up and sit in the morning for hours with our coffee looking at the beach and water...that is out favorite part of any trip!...The Bucuti is on the same beach...It looks like it is probably a nicer hotel...I think they have oceanfront rooms and then the partial OV must be the rooms on the side...the building is more of a square with maybe 3 or 4 floors where the Manchebo is and arc with 2 floors...check out their web sites to get a view of the building...again, either way you will have a great beach to enjoy and the warmest water I have ever been in...I am jealous...I cant wait to go back again someday!...if you have any other questions, please feel free to write...Bon Bini!

Thanks for your imput. I guess the only thing I'm concerned about is the partial ov room. Can't seem to get a straight answer from the resort and can't find anyone who's stayed in one. It's so hard to make a decision. Guess I'll just have to close my eyes and pick.
Cathy

Just returned from a stay at The Bucuti. The previous person is correct, the OV rooms are on the sides of the hotel and the hotel is set back further than the Manchebo. We stayed in a room on the second floor, closest end to the beach and could see the ocean by looking off to the side. We would not see it by just sitting on the balcony. The hotel was clean and modern. Beach is the best in Aruba, far better than Palm Beach. Be sure to dine at the French Steakhouse which is located at Manchebo and Gasparito's. Enjoy.

Cathy, we're planning a trip ourselves and would love to have your feedback upon your return. Have a great trip, and please post again! We'll be waiting to hear which property you chose and how you liked it.

Cathy-
I stayed at the Manchebo a year ago January and loved it. It was my first time to Aruba and I am now planning to go back in August for my Honeymoon (staying at the Hyatt - only to be pampered more!)BUT the Manchebo is a great deal for the $$$. I originally had a 2nd floor room but then got a room change to the 1st floor. Primarily because I loved walking out of my sliding door and having a cup of coffee or a mixed drink on my balcony with my feet in the sand and a beautiful ocean view to top it all off.

I second all the comments so far about
the Manchebo Beach Resort! We stayed
there in July 1999 and just spent the
day there at their beach a few weeks
ago via a cruise, and now a return trip
back to the Manchebo is in the works
for February 2001-- this time a 10-12
day stay!! A week just wasn't long
enough for us!
JanGail
