Please Help!!! Can't decide between Punta Cana and Bayahibe

Just wondering if anyone has been to Punta Cana and to Bayahibe? How do the two compare? We are looking for a great beach, and a great resort, don't really want to do any sightseeing. Which would you recommend? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

I was in Punta Cana in April. We stayed at Iberostar Bavaro. The beach is beautiful, the resort lovely and much to my surprise, the food very good. I would definitely go back. I have never been to Bayahibe.
Several people went on the safari tour and said it was great. There is really no reason to leave the resort if you don't want to.

Thank you mochomiak. We're considering the Iberostar Bavaro if we stay in Punta Cana. I'm glad you had a good time. I would like to know the differences (good, bad and ugly) between Punta Cana and Bayahibe. Can anyone assist further?

Thank you louiss. Can you mention a few differences between Punta Cana and Bayahibe? I was told today Bayahibe is primitive and we would not enjoy it. Do you think this is true?
