planning a wedding!

I've posted before--I'm the one who won't stop raving about Swept Away. I have been married before and had that wedding at Swept Away. It was great but I want to get married this LAST time somewhere else. Only exactly the same. Ha ha. I think that I have narrowed it dowm to St Lucia and am considering Jalousie or Rendezvous. Would appreciate any help! It will be just the two of us. Have also thought about Cocoloba in Anguilla. Thanks for all the help!!!

We are also facing that quandry - to get married in St. Lucia or Antigua. We were favoring Sandals in St. Lucia, but the residency requirements are longer than those in Antigua - 3 business days not including the day of arrival. Call me old fashioned, but I'd like to have the honeymoon AFTER the wedding and not before. We're now leaning toward Sandals in Antigua.

Best of luck with your plans.

I was married at Sandals Antigua last year and they did a wonderful job with the ceremony. We really enjoyed the resort also. It has a real laid back/romantic feel to it. We arrived last Thursday night and were married Saturday morning. The beach and grounds are beautiful and we found it to be the perfect "weddingmoon" spot. If you have any questions, please ask. Congrats to both!

Sorry for being imprudent..... but if you are planning a wedding etc., on St. Lucia or Anguilla, why did you post this question in the CUBA Island forum?

Strange...... pre wedding jitters????

What specifically about your wedding at Swept Away would you like to duplicate? Atmosphere? Scenery? Quality of beach? Food? Accommodations?

Without having something more specific to go one, I'm inclined to think that despite the 3 day minimum residency in St. Lucia that Jalousie would be your best bet. It's got all of the convenience of an AI like you had at SA, but the grounds are even more beautiful, the villas more private and luxurious, and the grounds much larger (over 300 acres). And for pure romantic scenery, I don't think you can find a place in the Caribbean that beats being nestled between the Pitons! The downside is that the beach, while beautiful, is not as long as the one at SA. St. Lucia is also more difficult to get around than Jamaica, if you want to get out and explore the island or try other restaurants. But despite these two issues, I think it suits your needs perfectly.
