Pirate's week in Grand Cayman, what type of crowd?
what type of crowd does the Pirate's week in Grand Cayman draw?

My husband and I were looking for a nice quiet retreat away from everything for his 40th birthday.

Also, does Cayman Island play carribbean music during that time of year? I know it is a silly question, but still I am wondering.

We enjoy the caribbean music, so look forward to enjoying that kind of music.

Thanks

We were in Grand Cayman for the first two days of Pirates Week three years ago. A real party crowd. Thousands of people and anywhere from 2 to 4 cruise ships. It kicks off with pirates invading the harbour and kidnapping the governor (which takes about two hours to act out) and then big parade and week of revelry. Lots of tourists come every year and dress up as pirates and wenches. There are street parties every night till dawn. Traffic jams everywhere. A lot of towns also have there own celebrations. If I were looking for quiet restful this wouldn't be my choice. You might look into the Turks and Caicos for laid back restful. You can e-mail me for more info
